Steve Pokorny, M.A., is the president of TOB Ministries, an organization devoted to utilizing John Paul the Great’s Theology of the Body to spread the Culture of Life. He is an international speaker, having given talks in many locations including, California, Texas, Ohio, Maine, and even Austria. His appearances include a spot on ‘Franciscan University Presents’ on EWTN, as well as two programs with Catholic FamilyLand TV. In addition to receiving a theology degree from Franciscan University of Steubenville, he has trained twice with Christopher West. Steve specializes in speaking to youth about the gift of their sexuality and learning to give their lives as a gift to others. He has recorded several talks, with such topics as the meaning of masculinity and femininity, dating, and spiritual warfare.

Steve was born in 1979 near Cleveland, Ohio. After high school, he attended Syracuse University for one year to major in acting. After feeling a call to the priesthood, Steve returned back to the Cleveland area to attend Borromeo Seminary and John Carroll University. After graduation, he entered into a year of discernment at St. Mary's Seminary (Cleveland), where he realized that God was leading him elsewhere.

In 2003, Steve attended Franciscan University in pursuit of an M.A. Theology degree. In the spring semester of 2005, he studied at the Angelicum in Rome, traveled around Europe, and was present for the passing of John Paul the Great and the ascension of Benedict XVI to the Chair of St. Peter. Upon returning from this life-changing experience, Steve completed his degree in August of 2005.

During this time, one of his friends gave him a tape by Christopher West, which shattered the way he had previously looked at the world, sexuality, and the meaning of life. After being healed from many wounds, Steve began an intensive study of John Paul's work and various associated materials, delivering talks on related topics, as well as forming HARD CORE Ministries, a group-effort devoted to spreading the Theology of the Body to teens and college students. After attending the Theology of the Body Institute in 2004 and 2005, he was trained to deliver an introductory seminar on the Theology of the Body, a half-day event that begins to break open this awesome vision for humanity.

Steve is currently pursuing an MTS degree at the John Paul II Institute for Marriage and Family Studies, as well as developing this ministry in the hope of fulfilling John Paul the Great's dream of seeing the Culture of Life blossom into reality.
